Newest Post: Obsession (2025) Review
...an aspiring writer from the PNW, I'm in my 30s and my core belief is not too different from other genre fanatics: horror is in everything, and everything is in horror. I started this blog, Red Rose Horror, in August 2021 and it's dedicated to horror reviews (primarily movies & some shows). In addition to channeling my horror rants into RRH posts I also have a writing specific website, available by clicking here, where I post about poetry, prospective books, as well as non-horror essays and reviews.
Shortened reviews that are bite-sized and overview the big picture rather than getting granualar on subject matter, plot, or production background like middlings or deep dives. For lengthier posts keeps scrolling or click one of the tiny review images or headers to redirect to the tiny reviews page.
Longer than tiny-reviews and varying in length but typically shorter than the deep dives or franchise reviews I've done. Click the image or header to re-direct to that subgenre dedicated review page.
In-depth and lengthy projects covering a horror related topic and reviews of related media.
Pages and subpages dedicated to the franchise including background and individual movie reviews. Additionally movie franchise reviews cover related topics to that franchise like astral projecting in the Insidious post.
Monsters updated post (adding recently released titles & a more in-depth analysis of the western cultural fear motivating many modern portrayals and revivals)
American Horror Story pages up-to-date before the season 13 drop
As of June 2026 I've finished writing the initial Untitled Vampire Novel draft and have edited chapters 1 & 2 so far. Early chapters will eventually be posted on my writing website linked below. I'm also working on a collection of short stories that tell a larger narrative about corporate run pergatory, The Gray Area, with more info below.
Vampire horror fantasy novel about a disgruntled employee facing life & death if she choses to free herself from her meglomaniac employer and his loyalist.
Horror short stories taking place in a spirit realm run by corporations that harvest by-products of the physical world unbeknownst to regular humans.
