In addition to essays and reviews I write fiction in the form of poetry, short stories, and novels that are works in progress. In this Fiction section below are samples of poems, the concept for a fantasy novel series and the start plus concept for a horror novel.
POETRY
The poems in the slideshow aren't dated but range from being written between 2011 and 2024. None of them are current reflections of my state of mind and are creative writing pieces. These are just some that I've edited since initially writing to be more effective poems. These are likely not the only versions and do differ from other versions posted in the past or on other platforms.
THE KINGDOM'S EMBRACE NOVEL SERIES
The Kingdom’s Embrace is a novel series about a fantasy world containing a fictional society divided into kingdoms who have a range of power to wield over the society at large. The economics of the realm revolve around a current of energy forcibly mined by a group, the Flemens, that incur severe negative health and psychological impacts due to extended exposure to the raw material. Flemens rose out of the ruins of the last great war and subsequent power shifts, the ruling kingdom, Aurumreach, leaving behind the shell of their own subset of society as a warning to other factions of the realm.

Drawing inspiration from history and real world conflicts The Kingdom's Embrace strives to be a parallel story to real cultural conflicts that encourages readers to immerse themselves in history. The overarching concept for the 8-10 novel series is journeys through the kingdom's and provinces around Chromnoiah, the fictional realm, of the Flemen protagonist. This realm the setting for blending history with fictional elements like magic and time travel.
Some of the places that comprise the realm of Chromnoiah are the Metleheim Fiefdom to the far north surrounded by thick forests at the base of steep mountain ranges, to the northwest is the Diamoria Kingdom with an arctic terrain and reliance on ice architectural features, to the south of Diamoria is the Revelaria Vineyards responsible for supplying most of the spirits and fine garments of the realm, aided by the heat from the Flameheart to the south that allows the necessary crops to grow.
Directly to the east of Revelaria are the Sapphire Shores, a main cultural center of the realm and politically neutral place commonly used for leaders and criminals alike to meet and Sheridan's Cove to the southwest, serves as a connected trading hub with an underground, somewhat hidden marketplace connecting the two places. Off the coast to the east of the Sapphire Shores is Echo's Keep, the former head of the realm that now stands as archives on a collection of 3 close islands in the center of a cove. In the waters surrounding the island are unspoken dangers that keep people without access to huge ships from traveling between the land and islands aside from the ferry that Arumreach controls and funds.
In the south west most quadrant of Chromnoiah is the current ruling kingdom, Aurumreach, and serves as the agriculture and livestock hot spot known for it's social formalities juxtaposing their brutal treatment of the creatures they rely on and the lower class citizens whom work the crop rotation in exchange for small wages. None are treated worse however than the Flemen, inhabiting the Flameheart Forest directly to the north of Aurumreach that surrounds the vein of energetic material flowing from an unknown source on the western coast.
GRAY AREA HORROR NOVEL
The horror novel, Gray Area, is a fiction piece I work on following a soul trapped in Purgatory. This pour soul discovered like many others that unbeknownst to those on Earth the universe runs on a type of currency that corporations in Purgatory have long used as collateral and securities investments that those souls are responsible for upon their arrival. Before souls can transition to the Other Side they must work to pay off their debts, typically aiding in the same operations that have caused them to be stuck.
The novel opens on an employee resolved to face their 293 year debt sentence until they discover their company plans to roll out a new, even more sinister debt program. They must decide if they will continue on in their current existence or tempt fate and do something to make a difference for humans.
