2025 Horror Movies
This list of movies coming out in 2025 was initially posted June 7th, 2025 and I plan to update it occasionally as more movies come out, are announced, and/or if I have a post-watch review. Not all movies will be reviewed because there are over 96 including the ones discluded. Reviews will also be brief and to the point that don't reveal too much and are spoiler-free. Titles link to Wikipedia, Rotten Tomatoes, or IMDb pages which contain background information and information

Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025)
The story woven through the first 3 Fear Street movies made up for some questionable character death choices but the newest installment, Fear Street: Prom Queen doesn’t make up for the same sorts of decisions with a in depth narrative. The story is told in a clunky way that can lead to confusion about character motivations and involvement. This Fear Street is like trying to make gooey sugar cookies but pulling them out just a tad too soon, still edible but a bit more raw than

Final Destination 3 (2006)
Directed by James Wong and written by Glen Morgan and James Wong the 3rd installment of Final Destination follows a similar formula to the first 2 films. In the review of the first film I went over the first film which was inspired by Jeffrey Reddick’s spooky experience while traveling. Jump to the third film however and we are following a completely disconnected group of high schoolers, seemingly random as far as the franchise is concerned.

Until Dawn (2025)
I found the beginning and end of Until Dawn really engaging and fun to watch. I liked learning about the characters, their thoughts and feelings, and wanted them to succeed at the end. That being said I did like the outcome and found the call backs to other scenes good nods and finishing moments to top the film off. I don't want to spoil too much about this movie because I think it feeling clever came from me not knowing too much going into it.

Hypnotic (2021)
From the opening scene I assumed the therapist, Dr. Collin Meade (O’mara) bared resemblance to a Criminal Minds episode where the serial killer uses his patients' phobias to kill them. A woman is crushed in an elevator and I have to assume that he doesn’t have Saw level abilities to make her wander into a mechanically altered elevator that crushes her without the news getting a hold of the story. I did however find it interesting to see what someone might experience inside of

Saw (2004)
The Saw franchise began as a single movie simply title Saw that hit theaters in 2004 costing less than $1.2 million to make with a concept that came about due to limited resources available to the creators. As James Wan’s directorial debut the success of Saw is apparent in the numbers, generating roughly $108 million at the worldwide box office with 54% of that being domestic.

Malignant (2021)
Let me start by saying I left this movie with more questions than answers, confused about what I'd just watched. I laughed more than I cowered and I yelled obscenities at the TV more than once because nothing about it made sense to me. The whole time I felt like the direction of the story was being chosen by a Magic 8 Ball rather than a coordinated effort to craft a horror story about a malignancy.
